Organized in 1992 as the real estate subsidiary of JMI Services, Inc., JMI Realty is a private real estate investment and development company. Today, JMI Realty oversees a sizable real estate investment portfolio including several operating companies.
Technology
JMI Equity, based in Baltimore and San Diego, is a private equity firm exclusively focused on investments in growing software and business services companies at all stages of their lifecycles. Founded in 1992, JMI Equity invests in technology companies throughout North America and is currently investing its sixth fund, JMI VI, with $600 million of committed capital. JMI Equity provides the first institutional capital to self-funded companies, partners with management teams to acquire or recapitalize market leading companies and selectively makes investments in early-stage companies. Representative investments include Blackbaud, DoubleClick, Kronos and Unica.

Sports and Entertainment
In December 1994, John Moores acquired the San Diego Padres, which is the cornerstone of Moores' investments in this arena. In partnership with the City of San Diego, the Padres developed a new Downtown San Diego Ballpark, with JMI Realty serving as Master Developer for the Ballpark District, a 26-block area surrounding the new Ballpark.
In January 2006, JMI Sports LLC was formed and offers a proven, comprehensive approach to planning, development and investment opportunities in and around major sports, entertainment and other public assembly venues.
